The headline reads: We Were Badly Misled About the Event That Changed Our Lives. You can read the article here.
The article goes on to present facts and figures and lots of information to support how we were fooled into believing that the COVID lab leak theory was ludicrous. How could no one have told us? And now we’re hearing strong evidence that the Wuhan lab leak was the likely source. Say it ain’t so.
Remember…
…way back in 2020…we were washing our groceries in lysol, masking up for a drive in the car alone, and staying locked inside lest COVID came after us. I shouldn’t take this lightly. People were getting sick and it was scary.
But the biggest problem for me was the lack of information. It seemed that anyone that questioned the scientific community in-crowd that was providing guidance, was quickly shown the door. How many people were thrown off YouTube and Twitter for suggesting that the source was a Wuhan lab leak?
And the mainstream media ate this up. They were the voice of the in-crowd, silencing anyone who dared question the powers that be.
And big tech was complicit. They were more than happy to support US government requests to deprioritize content and ban those who posted. Zuckerberg came out and apologized for his role.
Trump
Here’s the really funny part. I’m not the biggest Trump fan, but you have to admit he had it right.

People were outraged, and the white house responded:

Here’s a link to the CNN article in 2020.

Rogan and Others

Joe was too popular to sideline so his videos survived, but most others didn’t make it.
Fauci
from CNN:

Wrap-Up
Here’s what’s unfortunate. There were many people, including our President, who felt that the lab leak was the likely source. No one wanted to hear that so many chose not to listen. The media and big tech were more than happy to join in.
That’s unfortunate, but thankfully there are other sources of information so the message did get out. I am very thankful for those brave souls who were willing to question the origins at great risk to themselves and to their careers.
But now to hear the NYT publishing an opinion piece saying no one told us is funny. Funny sad, not funny ha ha.
I’m sure these are the same people who were gobsmacked when they found out in mid-2024 that Biden was not functioning at 100%. Because there were no hints in his speeches or his actions that would have lead us to question his competency. No one told them this either. Fooled again.
Hopefully the lesson we learn from this is that it is OK to question everything.
I’ve been leaving the media alone but this one floored me.
…And Another Thing…
I went back to the Times article to see if it improved on a 2nd read. Thought it was funny that she refers to the Russian Flu of 1977. I’ve yet to see any outrage over the name “Russian Flu”.

It’s also sad that fear of ruffling feathers would cause some scientists to keep quiet. How polite and politically correct of them.
